You can call us entrepreneurs, businessmen, or anything really. It's up to you! We simply do things we believe in and are passionate about. We try, fail, try again, joke about it, solve it, mess up and succeed. We refuse to do things the way they've always been done just because they've always been done that way (unless it makes a lot of sense). We want to prove that it's possible to be serious and have fun at the same time. When someone says it can't be done, we get even more excited about actually doing it. And when it gets really hard, like when we got 3000 oil-soaked cans to use as cups for an international drinks competition and had to hand-glue them with a minute to go, we just go for it and work a little harder.
The important thing is that we never compromise on what we believe in.
The reason was quite simple.
The reason Swedish Tonic was founded was quite simple. We wanted really good tonics, and we couldn't find any we liked ourselves. We simply realised that we had to do it ourselves!
All the tonics we saw were transparent. Quite remarkable, we thought, considering that tonic is made from cinchona bark. Have you ever seen a transparent tree? We certainly haven't!
We started squeezing, blending, straining and boiling. Two guys turned into three and eventually we were a team. After each success, something went crazy. Bottles exploded, 20 pallets of boxes arrived at our student flats, 3000 measuring glasses were made in the wrong size. At the same time, our friends started to take an interest in the products. Others too. Word spread. New mates, bloggers and foodies. In Sweden and then all over Europe. And the secret? Swedish Tonic is actually quite unique.
