There has long been a hysteria around Fatty's Day, with semolina in all its forms. Nacho semlor, wrap semlor & pizza semlor. Yes, the fantastin has no limits. In parallel, gin & tonic has become one of the most popular drinks. So why not take and combine these two? Together with Gateau, Swedish Tonic developed a gin & tonic salad in 2018 that was a huge success! Now it's back! 

The Gin & Tonic blend will be sold on Friday & Saturday 22-23/2 and 1-2/3 & Fettis Day 5/3 in the following Gateau stores. Stockholm: Sturegallerian, Hamngatan, Fridhemsplan, Hornstull & Täby. Gothenburg: Femman. Skåne: Triangeln Malmö & Lunds Saluhall.

Swedish Tonic today produces a tonic that you can take the GT from grog to drink with simple means. The tonic is made with real cinchona bark, freshly squeezed citrus, agave syrup, along with selected spices for a broader spectrum of flavors. As the amount of syrup can be adjusted, the consumer or bartender can adjust the flavour of the drink as needed. Thanks to the tonic's properties, it is suitable for more than just drinks (e.g. in semolina), unlike traditional tonic water.
Gateau is Sweden's largest artisan bakery and a pioneer in its field. Gateau is best known for its stone-oven baked breads made from sourdough and stone-ground rye flour, but also offers top-quality coffee breads and pastries.

The Gin & Tonic Semolina is baked and built in the traditional way with a wheat bun, almond paste and cream. But that's where the similarities end. The cream is flavoured with Swedish Tonic and agave syrup, giving it a distinct and distinctive tonic taste. The almond paste in turn is flavoured with gin which marries very nicely with the tonic-based cream. Paired with the wheat bun, it makes for a semolina that will make GT lovers' taste buds water.

Recipe for 4 GT semlor:
4 wheat buns
3 cl Swedish Tonic
2 cl gin
2 cl agave syrup
200 grams almond paste
2.5 dl whipped cream
icing sugar

Step 1.
Mix 2cl of gin into 200 grams of almond paste

Step 2.
Pour 2.5 dl whipping cream into a bowl. Add 3 cl Swedish Tonic and 2 cl agave syrup. Whisk!

Step 3.
Split the wheat balls and spread on the almond paste.

Step 4.
Drizzle on the whipped cream.

Step 5.
Put the lid on the semlane and garnish with icing sugar. For an extra touch, add a dried lime slice.
